What you'll need
Gather the information and documents below before you start. You can proceed once you have them ready.
Company information
- •Three proposed company names in order of preference — English required, Chinese optional.
- •Short description of business activities and the intended use of the Hong Kong company.
- •List of operating jurisdictions where the company will trade, hold assets, or invest.
- •Proposed share structure — number of shares and percentage per shareholder.
- •Address where accounting records will be kept, and the name of the responsible person.
- •Description of the source of funds and how the funds were accumulated.
Corporate structure
- •Proposed director(s) — minimum 1, individual or corporate.
- •Proposed shareholder(s) — minimum 1, with ownership percentages.
- •Identification of UBOs up to the natural-person level.
Individuals — directors, shareholders, UBOs (for each individual)
- •Certified or notarised passport copy, or HKID for Hong Kong residents.
- •Certified or notarised proof of address, dated within 3 months.
- •Certified or notarised bank statement, dated within 3 months, matching the proof of address.
- •Tax residency.
- •Tax Identification Number (TIN), if applicable.
- •Mobile phone number.
- •Email address.
- •Occupation, and employer name if applicable.
- •Companies Registry eServices account registration for e-filing, if applicable.
- •PEP declaration and sanctions confirmation.
Corporate shareholders or directors (for each corporate entity)
- •Certified or notarised Certificate of Incorporation.
- •Certified or notarised Memorandum & Articles of Association.
- •Certified or notarised Register of Directors.
- •Certified or notarised Register of Members / Shareholders.
- •Certified or notarised Register of Beneficial Owners, if applicable.
- •Full KYC package for each individual director and shareholder of the entity.
